We Love Brandi Carlile

So, on Tuesday Kristin, Shelly, Heather and I all went out to The Big Easy concert house and saw the amazing Brandi Carlile! This is the second time I have seen her and this was so much better then the last show. That is not to say that the last show wasn't good, She was just more energetic and the crowed was better at this show. Her voice is so unique and amazing and I wish I could do the raspy singing voice thing that she has completely mastered. Some of my favorite moments in a concert are when they ask for crowed participation and there was no lack of that at this show. I attached a few videos for your enjoyment. The first video is of her and her band completely unplugged and the other one is of the crowed participation I was telling you all about. Although neither of the videos are from the show last night they are identical to what she did here. Enjoy and get out and see her if she comes close by!

Bad Haircut, Skinny Pants and a Movie Review

Okay, first off I have to start out by saying that when it comes to hair cuts I am probably one of the pickiest people out there. I hate that I'm that way, but that's what happens when you go to a great hair dresser for a while and they ARE truly fantastic. That being said, I bravely tried out a new hairdresser and got my haircut on Saturday. I swear, haircuts are something that I use to enjoy very much but ever since I left Utah I can't think of anything I hate more! This lady was really, really nice, however she left me sitting in the chair by myself ALLOT. She was the owner, so every time the door opened or the phone rang or one of her other stylists tried to ring someone up she had to dart over and Greet them, gab on the phone, or say goodbye. She ended up finishing my cut in record time (especially counting all the time I sat in the chair while she was elsewhere). I took one look at the back and about died. It was a straight across square! So I asked her if she could possibly soften that. She did her best then accidentally dumped all the hair from the cape on my lap , I paid and left.

I knew my cut was bad but I didn't realize just how bad it was until the next day. Below is a picture of the back. Not that you can tell from the picture but it is shorter in the middle and longer on the sides. Also, the actual sides of my hair are completely different lengths. I ended up fixing one side myself! I have to say though, I do like the front of it. So, tomorrow I am going in to get it fixed. I'll keep you all posted on how it goes.

SKINNY PANTS

...something I swore I would never wear. I just couldn't see myself in that trend, especially when every celebrity who has even the slightest bit of curve looked a million times curvier (in not the good way) while wearing them. However, I went over to Old Navy the other day because Kristin said she found some awesome deals and there they were, only 15 bucks. I grabbed a pair of bright blue ones in an attempt to make my mom laugh and then grabbed two pairs of cords.

I have to say, I didn't hate them. I mean of course the bright blue pair did just what I thought they would and were a great comedic aid but the cords were actually pretty cute and they were cheap...so I am now the owner of my first skinny pants. I'll wear them proudly!

MOVIE REVIEW

Last, I went with my mom to see the movie Across the Universe this past weekend. I had been waiting for what felt like forever for it to finally arrive in Boise so I was pretty dang excited. I just have to tell you all...Don't see it! I mean see it but just wait until it is out of the big theaters and you can get it edited. Mom and I loved all the music, the story and the choreography. However in the middle of the movie when they are all in their drug phases there is quite a bit of nudity. When I say quite a bit...I mean there was more nudity in this movie then I have seen in some R rated films...Not that I watch a ton of R rated films, but...oh you know what I mean. It was so funny though because when it happened Mom gasped and then tried to cover her eyes while trying to cover my eyes at the same time. I swear everyone around us probably thought we were completely ridiculous because we were both laughing about the whole thing. It really made me sad though that they felt the need to throw that in because I really did like the movie over all, I mean throw a hot British guy who can sing in a movie and I'm all over it. I would just rather he be clothed! Just thought I would warn you all.

Hello Fall

I am so excited! Fall is finally here! Fall is my absolute favorite time of year. I love how it smells at night and early in the morning, how it starts to get cold, how the trees change colors, and all the new wardrobe options!

Boise has been particularly cold here lately and while everyone seems to be totally put out by it I find myself happier and happier every morning when I roll out of bed and find that it is only going to be 55 degrees! The picture below is one that I took last Saturday. It was so cool to see the clouds hanging out below the mountains!

I know, I know I really should stop taking pictures while driving! Anyway, I hope everyone is having a great start of Fall and enjoying it as much as me!
