What did you do?

On Saturday I went rollerskating in Dorchester (a really scary place I was told never to go):

• We dressed up in 70's outfits;
• Went through tight security to get in (it was like we were being searched on cops!);
• Ended up being the only people over 15 skating who weren't affiliated with some kind of gang;
• I fell so hard that I almost had a complete come apart
• After falling became the tall white girl all the kids wanted to try to make fall and laugh at;
• Witnessed some of the scariest guys ever slashing tires outside
• The scary guys followed us, knives in hand, as we walked really fast back to the car
• We ate ice cream . . .Yum!

It was one adventurous and exciting Saturday night. What did you do?

Happy Birthday To Me!

My birthday was yesterday and boy was it a good one! It was low key, relaxing and full of good food and good company. The following pictures are of the dinner I had with some of my friends last night.

We went to Brown Sugar, a Thai food restaurant. The food was excellent. . . I especially loved the carrot shaped like a flower on my plate.

No one told me just how crazy things get at Brown Sugar when someone has a birthday. This is me and the girls enjoying the conversation at the table, not knowing what was about to happen.

All of a sudden, the lights go out in the entire restaurant. People start dancing out of the Kitchen waving flashlights around like a strobe light and singing with a recording of the funniest version of Happy Birthday I have ever heard.

As you can see, I was BRIGHT RED as the entire restaurant clapped along and sang to me.

They brought me fried ice cream which was so good!

I had an awesome day! Kenley took me out to lunch at a GREAT sandwich place here in Boston, we had cannolies at the office, I went out to dinner with a few of my good friends and got to talk to my near and dear ones on the phone. Thanks everyone for making my day so special! Here's to being 25!

USA, USA, USA

I was tagged by my good friend Sarah to post the 4th picture in my 4th album, or at least that's what I think I was suppose to do. Anyway, here it is!

This picture was taken in Salt Lake City during a team USA soccer game. It was a world cup qualifier (I think). I was living in Utah at the time, working for an awesome company, American Liberty Insurance, who scored us some great seats on the side line. My mom, sister and Cousin came up as well and were sitting with a view of the section shown above. It was one of the greatest sporting events I have ever been to, and produced some awesome picture taking opportunities. I think this picture is by far my favorite from the day! Enjoy!

"What a night for a dance, you know I'm a dancing machine. . ."

It's 2003, and my best friend Jana and I are driving back to Rexburg from a long weekend in Boise. I hated Rexburd at the time and was very, very upset at having to return. Just as I am about to bust out crying (I'm pathetic I know) Jana whips out this crazy new cd and tells me to have a listen. She assures me that they are really good and turns on the song Trani. As the unique sound erupted from the speakers (I like my music really loud), we both busted up laughing so hard that I worried for the other drivers on the road. These boys sounded like they were seriously tripping on something, and had tipped the bottle back one too many times. We laughed and laughed the whole way home and my love for Kings of Leon was born.

When the Kings third cd came out, I was living in Boise, working for my Dad and doing a lot of soul searching. (Okay lets face it, I was an unhappy girl trying to figure things out.) Again, their music came along, lifted my spirits, inspired me to buy my awesome rock star sunglasses and made me very, very happy. Every time I heard the song Charmer, I couldn't help but laugh!

So, you can only imagine how excited I was on Wednesday night as I headed out to see my favorite band live here in Boston with my friend Liz. Having been to their show about 3 years ago (when their second cd came out) in Utah, I knew just how awesome they were live.

The boys didn't disappoint as they rocked out and sang their little hearts out. One of them even played the guitar with his teeth at one point. They were such great performers and have such great sound that Liz and I couldn't help but dance and sing along.

I was having such a good time that I didn't even let the 50 year old, totally plastered guy next to me ruin my show. He showed up with his friends and was bound and determined to pick up some young girl. After yelling at him "scoot back over (he was crowding us so bad that Liz was practically in the isle) and don't touch me!", he got the hint and left apologizing. After the show was over his friend tried to tease me by saying that I had scared his friend off. I shrugged my shoulders and walked away. What kind of loser, 50 year old guys go to concerts actually thinking younger girls will want them? People amaze me!

The crowed in general were really great though. There were some songs where you could hardly hear the band over the crowd which has to feel good if you're the performer. There's just something about getting a bunch of people in one place to sing and dance and enjoy music together. I love it!

After the show, Liz and I went outside to take a picture of my outfit for mom to see. (I just bought skinny jeans for the first time and wanted to show her) As I am posing for the shot I suddenly find myself in a bear hug from a complete stranger! A fellow Kings of Leon fan and his buddy decided to jump in my picture and make my night a little more exciting. It's all about the love here in Boston . . . or maybe it was the beer.

The Kings of Leon are the greatest band ever! If you get the chance to see them live . . . Do, you wont regret it. I had a blast and can't wait to see them again some day.

Too Little Time

Grandma and Grandpa's cruise ship docked in Boston for a few short hours last week, so we went on a Duck Boat Tour and had lunch at Legal Seafood.

This is a piece of the Berlin wall. Our tour guide said that the top of the wall was a work of genius. They are starting to replace the fences in prisons with the rounded piece of concrete because no matter how strong you are, you can't pull yourself over it. Pretty amazing!

Cora was especially excited about the Duck Boat Tour. She would lean clear out the window to try to see everything. Don't worry though, Kristin had a good hold on her.

I love Boston!

It was so much fun to see you Grandma and Grandpa! Next time you'll have to stay a little longer.

Halloween 2008

Halloween this year was out of this world! Juliet and I had been anxiously waiting for this day to come since the beginning of October when we first came up with our costumes. We were especially excited about the fact that we had lots of places to be that night in order to show them off properly. Get ready for a lot of pictures and Halloween with Two Vampires!

Getting ready took longer than we thought. Not being a contact wearer, Juliet and I seriously underestimated the difficulty we would have putting the contacts in. Even with the help of our Rock Star friend Chen Ying we didn't get out the door until 10:00 p.m.

By 10:30 we were in full party mode!

About 1:30 a vampire gets a little hungry so we refueled at a nearby Burger King. Then it was home for a serious photo shoot.

Okay, maybe not that serious!

After an entire night with contacts in I was in serious need of some eye hydration. I became Great friends with my Visine and at about 4:00 a.m. crawled into bed.

The next morning I met up with some friends for breakfast. Sleepy eyed and very hungry, we ate and had a great time.
