Kuna Cave

This past weekend I took Kaitlin and went with a bunch of people from my branch out to Kuna Cave to play glow in the dark hide and seek. We bought a bunch of glow sticks (everyone brought about 5) and when we got into a good spot in the cave we cut them open and splattered it all over the walls, floors, ceiling and ourselves. It was so much fun and there were so many people. It was crazy to see everyone standing in the middle of the cave and then someone would start counting and they would all disappear into the walls. We blended into the walls and the floor so well that one of the guys in our group hid on the ground and was so well blended that he got tripped over! I wasn't very smart about taking pictures so I don't have a picture of the whole group but there is one out there somewhere. I will have to track it down and post it some other time. For now you can see just how dirty Kaitlin and I got. Our hands were so gross and we both ended up with glass in our hands from the broken glow sticks that were all over the cave. We had a total blast though!

Happy Birthday Lisa

Lisa's birthday was on Wednesday the 25th and we had a great time! The family went out to diner at Goodwood and then we took Lisa to see the new Harry Potter movie. Lisa and I went back to my apartment after diner where we waited to hear from mom to go to the movie. We got a little bored and with nothing better to do we pulled (okay...I pulled) out the camera and we started taking funny pictures. Lisa was so funny about it...well, I'll just let the pictures speak for themselves!

Lisa's first attempt at a funny face!

This is her second attempt...pretty sad I know!

Then...she whipped one out that put me to shame!

We thought we were pretty funny

I'm not sure what we were doing here...

Fish face!

I love this girl! Happy Birthday Lisa!

New, new, new!

Okay, so I'm the biggest dork that ever lived! I went out and got myself a new haircut that I actually don't hate and here's the kicker...I got it cut in BOISE! The back is a little choppy but not to terrible. Also, that same day I went out and got this great hat from Urban Outfitters. I really like it but sometimes I think I look cool and I really just look ridiculous. So, let me know what you think...keep the hat or take it back? (Will I be mistaken for a boy?)

One side view...
The other side... MY HAT!!!

Where's Ty?

Okay, so here you can see the finished house for the family in Middleton. We all went up last night to volunteer for the later shift and when we got there we were turned away. We had signed up and everything but they were so ahead of schedule that they didn't have anything for us to do. So, we went up as spectators just to see the house and to see if we could get a little glimpse of Ty Pennington. We sat on the bus for a while because they were filming the big bus driving up and down the street. When we got out we were pleasantly surprised to see the finished house. I absolutely love the porch! A bunch of people around us kept yelling Ty's name and Kaitlin and Ryan were getting really embarrassed! It was funny to watch! Someone came out and told us that Ty was shooting and we probably wouldn't see him tonight. So, we boarded the bus and headed back into downtown Middleton (it is really funny to say that seeing how Middleton is so tiny!).
These are our sad faces because we didn't get to volunteer or see Ty!
We decided that it was way to early to head back home, so we went in and checked out the Hoe Down (I'm not kidding that's what they called it!) that they were having to raise money for the family. We walked in and Paige Davis and Eduardo were on the stage. We worked our way up to the front, snuck around a huge speaker and got in to get our pictures with them. I have no idea how we got past security seeing how they had a pretty big crowd roped off from getting back to see them. We were right up next to them and were back there for a good long while before we were asked to leave. Kaitlin and I both left thinking we for sure need a guy who is the same size as Eduardo! We could wear all the heels we wanted! He was so tall!

After taking our pictures we decided to head back out to the volunteer check in to see if they might need us again. We got up there and it was completely cleared out! We talked to this little security guard who told us that they didn't need any more volunteers. So we started trying to work it out with him so that we could get up to the house and walk through it. I even offered him a ride up there with us so he could wave us through. He took a few steps forward and we thought he was really going to jump in! Who wouldn't want to jump in with 4 hot girls? He told us that he could radio ahead so that we could go up and see the house but he couldn't get us in. :( He also told us that Ty was in Oregon shooting another House and would be flying back in the following day! He even confirmed that the design team doesn't really do anything. They are just the face of the show. Ty doesn't even have a real secret room! Oh well, we had fun running around and mingling with minor celebrities for a night!

Extreme Home Makeover

On Saturday Estrella, Mom, Kathy, Tim, Kaitlin and I all went out and helped on the Extreme Home Makeover house! They are in Middleton this week building a new house for a family that really needs it. We sat around and waited for a really long time to be put to work and after what seemed like forever and a little sneaking by us we made it in! They gave us our hard hats and shirts and put us to work! Estrella, Kaitlin and I walked around for the first little while handing out wet towels to the Hot construction worker (tough job let me tell you! :) We then got something to eat in the big tent set up for everyone and got right back to work...this time Kathy joined us and we were all put to work shoveling out manure. I am not even kidding when I say it was like 4 feet deep! We were the tail end of the job finishing it all up and evening it all out. Tim worked on it before us and managed to shower Cory Barton's fiance with manure...made us all laugh! We came away super hot (it was about 104 degrees!), Kaitlin got stung by a wasp and I managed to get two huge blisters on my thumbs. All in all though we had a really good time and really enjoyed being able to help with whatever we could. We are all headed back Tuesday night to help out again. We were so hot after helping with the house that we all went and jumped in the Boise River and floated down a really great part of it in Middleton! We had a great time...I can't think of any better way to spend my Saturday!

Tim, Kaitlin and Kathy after a long day of hard work!
It was so sick when I took off my hard hat! I had sweat dripping from my bangs and my hair had a permanent dent in the back from the hat! This is my "I'm so sexy" pose! And NO, that is not sweat all over the front of me! We had sopping wet towels around our necks to keep us cool. Although we did have some great sweat marks on our bras and under shirts...I'm sure you wanted to know that ! :)

Party All Night Long

On Friday Estrella and I decided it was about time to have a cousins sleep over at our place! Kaitlin and Audrey came with me and Estrella had her cousins, Jen, Lindy, Michelle, Emily and Keylee (sorry if I botched any of the spellings on those names). It was so much fun to mess around and just be silly all night! We started by making pizzas which turned into me stamping my hand print on all the little girls faces and then attacking Kaitlin so she could be cool to.

The girls working hard on their pizzas...the little girls ended up winning hands down for the best pizza!

How creative! In the pictures below I was teaching everyone how to body balance. It's really cool if you can get it to work. You can end up with 7 people all balancing on two peoples legs.

Kaitlin, Audrey and I just couldn't get our act together. Kaitlin started talking to me through her legs and we all just busted up laughing causing poor Audrey to come tumbling down! We never did end up making it work. I guess we'll have to have another party and try again! :)

Learning new dance moves

This is me teaching Kaitlin some new dance moves. It was so funny because when we looked back at the pictures it looks like we are doing some kind of karate moves. We laughed so hard about it but finally did get the moves down.

I was showing kaitlin how to land in this shot (above). The next two shots are where I totally dropped her twice! Don't worry she didn't get hurt we were just laughing so hard because we are such dorks! However, come next try outs for So You Think You Can Dance

Whip Cream Toss Video

Whip Cream Toss

Okay, so here is how it works. You put a huge pile of Whip Cream in your hand...you toss it in the air and you try to catch it in your mouth! (Thanks for the idea Tara!) It was so funny to watch everyone toss the whip cream and get it all over the place. Even if you do catch it in your mouth you still end up with it all over the place.

After the whip cream toss Kaitlin and I had the brilliant idea of trying to squirt the whip cream into my mouth from the balcony of my apartment. I really think if would have worked better had the can not been almost empty. As you can see below, a huge mess was made and it was fantastic!

Looks a little like I was attacked by a bird huh! Ha,ha,ha gross!

Happy Birthday Estrella!

So, my awesome roommate Estrella turned the big 21 yesterday! She is a blast and her birthday was just that...A BLAST! We had fun going to Carino's (yea, that's right they took away the Johnny part of the name) and then going back to the apartment and having cake and ice cream with her family and friends. Check out all the fun we had below!

Eating at Johnny's (I just can't call it Carino's it just doesn't sound right!)
This was the beautiful sunset that we unsuccessfully tried to run down and get a picture of. It was to fast and this was the best we got. What a beautiful end to the birthday though right? And the one remains!

21 Candles on a snickers cake...Yum!

Funny faces...you gotta love um!
